BRIAN'S BACKYARD 'QUE
Like a lot of great barbecue stories...this one started in the backyard.
I've always loved barbecue, and I've always been a big BBQ sauce guy.
For years, I kept telling myself that someday I'd try making my own.
About two years ago, I finally decided to stop thinking about it and make my first batch. That recipe eventually became what you know today asSweet 'n Smokey.
It Started With One Batch
I started sharing my sauce with friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors. The response was better than I ever expected.
Before long, I traded jars and Tupperware containers for barbecue sauce bottles.
That was the moment I realized this might be something worth sharing with more than just friends and family.
Never "Good Enough"
One thing hasn't changed since that first batch.
If I wasn't completely happy with it, it wasn't finished.
Every recipe has gone through countless rounds of tweaking, tasting, and experimenting until it matched exactly what I wanted it to be.
I'd rather stay true to the flavors that built this business than change them just to appeal to everyone.
Still Just Getting Started
My goal has never been to become the biggest barbecue sauce company.
My goal is to stay true to the values that got me here in the first place.
I'll never cut corners just to increase profits, and I'll never sacrifice the flavors people have come to expect from Brian's Backyard 'Que.
If I can keep making great barbecue sauce, earn the trust of my customers, and one day become a household name... I'll consider that a success.
